Vico da Mogiano

Vico da Mogiano was a Sienese Senator with whom Catherine created a relationship with early in her career. Sienese Senators were not citizens of Siena, but rather members of the larger Tuscan world, which separated them from the local politics of the day, theoretically.1 Catherine did not write to Vico himself, but rather addressed her concerns to his wife Madonna Mitarella in 1973.
