Gabriele di Davino Piccolomini

Little is known about Gabriele di Davino Piccolomini other than his status as a Sienese Noble. He accompanied her to Rome in 1378 and potentially during her stay at Val d’Orcia, a Sienese fortress owned by the Salimbeni Family.1 Gabriele is reported as a witness to one of Catherine’s moments in ecstasy in her hagiography that Raymond of Capua wrote, “The whole thing is also confirmed by Gabriele, of the Sienese family of the Piccolomini, who has assured me that he too was present.”2
